The 555 Ground School is a flying theory class, preparing cadets to get selected for advanced summer pilot training. Cadets may then obtain their Glider Pilot License and/or Private Pilot License.


Here are the criteria to apply to the Glider Pilot Scholarship:
- Be 16 years old before mid-August
- Be at least in level 3 at the squadron
- Be in secondary 3 (grade 9) or higher at school
- Outstanding Squadron involvement (attendance rate, attitude, motivation, etc.)
Here are the criteria to apply to the Power Pilot Scholarship:
- Be 17 years old before mid-August
- Be at least in level 4 at the squadron
- Be in secondary 4 (grade 10) or higher at school
- Outstanding Squadron involvement (attendance rate, attitude, motivation, etc.)

Information for 2025
Important dates for those who have completed their groundschool courses:
Feb 5th – Written exam in person at the squadron with Capt Ronci
March 7th – Deadline to submit your school marks from 2023-2024
March 11th – Exam results and interview invitations
March 22nd – Online interviews
April 11th – Summer camp selections are published
May 16th – Absolute deadline to submit your Transport Canada medical certificate (CAT3)
For the 2024-2025 session the program has changed again. It should start in November 2024 and run until February 2025.
