Ground School

The 555 Ground School is a flying theory class, preparing cadets to get selected for advanced summer pilot training. Cadets may then obtain their Glider Pilot License and/or Private Pilot License.  

Here are the criteria to apply to the Glider Pilot Scholarship:

  • Be 16 years old before mid-August
  • Be at least in level 3 at the squadron
  • Be in secondary 3 (grade 9) or higher at school
  • Outstanding Squadron involvement (attendance rate, attitude, motivation, etc.)

Here are the criteria to apply to the Power Pilot Scholarship:

  • Be 17 years old before mid-August
  • Be at least in level 4 at the squadron
  • Be in secondary 4 (grade 10) or higher at school
  • Outstanding Squadron involvement (attendance rate, attitude, motivation, etc.)

Information for 2025-2026


For the 2025-2026 session the program has changed again. It should start in October 2025 and run until February 2026.
Classes are held every Monday from 18h30 to 21h00 at the squadron according to the schedule.
